Project Overview

The Transitional Housing Project aims to reduce homelessness in Lac La Biche County, aligning with Council's goal of social wellness and promoting a healthy and connected community. The Transitional Housing Project aims to provide shelter, wraparound services, and supports to Lac La Biche County's homeless population.

The project is funded by $500,000 from Lac La Biche County and a $150,000 federal grant through the Rural Development Network.

Responsibility for operating this facility will be the responsibility of the local non-profit Lakeland Out of the Elements Shelter Society. They are an experienced non-profit group who have been running facilities in Lac La Biche County for years. They have been courteous and considerate neighbours in all the areas in which they've operated.
